Brighton Rec Gymnastics values inclusiveness and is committed to creating an environment where everyone can learn new skills and have fun regardless of their ability. In 2020, we will be introducing an All Abilities Gymnastics class for people with mental and physical disabilities. The aim of the program is to develop life skills including confidence, self-esteem, body awareness, movement foundations, along with strength and flexibility, and to ensure nobody is denied access to the sport of gymnastics.
Our All Abilities gymnastics program accommodates for many types of students from those with learning needs, congenital disorders, to visual impairments and those who have anxiety or require additional social assistance in a personalised setting. All the participants have the opportunity to learn and progress at their own ability and time taking into account their activity level and concentration span. Gymnastics is a great foundation for all other sports alongside personal confidence and life skills.
The program provides a supportive social network for both children and parents/carers, which is crucial for all-round development and self-esteem. We involve parents and carers on the gym floor if desired and required.
These 45 minute small group classes will be held weekly on Wednesdays at 9.15am.
|Class time:||Wednesday 9.15am starting January 29|
|Fee:||$ 15.90 per class (45 minute sessions)|
All children are required to be registered with the peak body Gymnastics Victoria. An annual fee of $37 (pre-school age) or $55 (school age) will be charged in addition to class fees.
