Below are the protocols we have set in place to ensure that the Brighton Recreational Centre is COVID-Safe and the health and safety of our community and staff is protected.
Health precautions and risk mitigation is a high priority. Our health and safety measures include (but are not limited to):
When you arrive at the Centre you will need to check in with a QR code, using your phone to scan the code. If you have any trouble scanning in you can either download the Service Victoria app or visit go.vic.gov.au/check-in. Open the app and enter: EDC NZ2. We suggest you allow yourself a couple of extra minutes before your class to ensure you have signed in correctly.
Masks must be worn by adults and children aged 12 and over at all times within the Centre. Masks may only be removed when undertaking exercise or physical activity where you are out of breath or puffing.
Students, teachers, coaches, staff and parents over the age of 18 must maintain social distancing of 1.5m at all times. Where possible, furniture placement and learning spaces will be modified to support physical distancing.
The Centre will be adhering to the State Government’s current facility and density requirements within the various spaces within the Centre.
Entry in and out of the Centre will be via the main entrance on Outer Crescent. We ask where possible, that you enter via the ramp and exit via the stairs. Please ensure that you arrive no earlier than 5 minutes prior to the start of your class and leave the Centre immediately after your class has finished.
Parents/carers will not be allowed to enter the premises, unless your class requires parent participation. A ‘drop and go’ approach will be required. Your child’s teacher/coach will meet your child at the main entrance and escort them to their class and return them to the main entrance at the end of their class.
Any equipment used throughout the class will be wiped down before and after each use.
There will be no access to Centre change rooms or wet areas for students to change clothes etc. We recommend all students come to the Centre ‘ready to go’. Toilets within the Centre will remain open.
Brighton Recreational Centre has a nominated COVID-Safe officer, Natasha Pecoraro who will work with the Brighton Recreational Centre Board of Management.
