Below are the protocols we have set in place to ensure that the Brighton Recreational Centre is COVID-Safe and the health and safety of our community and staff is protected.

  • Full cleaning of bathrooms will occur daily, with regular spot cleaning undertaken throughout the day.
  • High touch areas will be thoroughly cleaned regularly, including door handles and equipment.

General Hygiene Practices

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use an alcohol-based hand sanitiser.
  • Patrons will be asked to use hand sanitiser prior to entering the Centre.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home and seek medical treatment when you are sick.
  • Cover your mouth with your elbow to cough or sneeze.
  • No high fives, hand shakes, hugging, sharing of water bottles or other physical contact.
  • Any student that has any underlying health conditions or is considered a vulnerable person, should consult with their healthcare professional prior to returning to their class.
  • You must not attend the Centre if in the past 14 days you have been unwell or had any flu-like symptoms or have been in contact with a known or suspected case of COVID-19.

QR Code Check In

When you arrive at the Centre you will need to check in with a QR code, using your phone to scan the code.  If you have any trouble scanning in you can either download the Service Victoria app or visit go.vic.gov.au/check-in.  Open the app and enter: EDC NZ2. We suggest you allow yourself a couple of extra minutes before your class to ensure you have signed in correctly.

Mask Wearing

Masks must be worn by adults and children aged 12 and over at all times within the Centre.  Masks may only be removed when undertaking exercise or physical activity where you are out of breath or puffing.

Please ensure that you arrive no earlier than 5 minutes prior to the start of your class and leave the Centre immediately after your class has finished.

School aged Students

Parents/carers will not be allowed to enter the premises, unless your class requires parent participation. A ‘drop and go’ approach will be required. Your child’s teacher/coach will meet your child at the main entrance and escort them to their class and return them to the main entrance at the end of their class.
