School Age Holiday Program

Unfortunately due to the the uncertainty of the current lockdown situation in Victoria, along with the recent fire at the Centre, Brighton Rec Centre have decided not to run our upcoming September/October School Holiday program.

We are deeply sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you and your family.

We hope to see you back at the Centre for our January Holiday program.

Join our fantastic School Holiday Program for 5-12 year olds run at the Brighton Rec Centre throughout the school holidays. Our program includes excursions and incursions as well as a range of fun filled activities here at the Centre. Bookings open on Wednesday 25 August at 7pm.

Bookings open on Wednesday 25 September at 7pm. No bookings will be accepted prior to that.

Complete and Email a 2021 Enrolment Form

To enrol in our School Holiday program in 2021, you will first need to complete a 2021 Enrolment Form. Please ensure the document title contains your family name. This enrolment form only needs to be completed once each year and can be completed at any time prior to bookings opening.  Please email the form to enquiries@brightonrec.com.au.

Complete and Email your Booking Form

To book your place in our Holiday Program, download and complete the School Holiday Program Booking Form and email your completed form along with your 2021 Enrolment Form to enquiries@brightonrec.com.au or deliver in person at the Centre.  You will receive a confirmation email from the Centre once your booking has been processed.

Activate CRN Benefits

After submitting your booking via email, you will need to log into your MyGov account and ‘Approve’ the upcoming care session in order to activate any CRN benefits your family is eligible for. This will need to be done for each and every holiday period.  Failure to do so may result in being charged the full fees for the program.

Important Information

Children must have attended one term of Primary School to participate in the School Holiday Program.

Hours
The program operates from 8.00am-6.00pm each day. Children cannot be left at the Centre before this time. Late fees of $1 per child, per minute will apply for children collected after 6.00pm.

Excursions

Parents/Guardians MUST provide written consent for their child(ren)’s participation in an excursion., so at drop-off, please look out for the permission form on the sign-in desk to supply your written consent. Please do not leave the venue without signing this form.  

On excursion days, we require all children to be signed in 30 minutes prior to departure time. If you have not arrived by the departure time, children cannot stay at the centre and cannot be dropped at the venue. Children cannot be collected from the excursion venue. 

Food

Children are encouraged to bring a healthy and adequate lunch, snacks and a drink bottle each day. Please note that some children that attend our services have been diagnosed at risk of anaphylaxis or are allergic to certain foods. We ask that our families to consider this when planning their children’s lunch and avoid packing foods that contain peanuts, tree nuts (e.g. almonds, walnuts, cashews), fish, or shellfish (e.g. oysters, prawns). 

Medical, Allergies and Action Plans

Children with Asthma, Anaphylaxis, an Allergy or any other medical condition, must email your Risk Minimisation Form and Medical Action Plans to enquiries@brightonrec.com.au before commencing the program.

If medication is required, please ensure you bring the medication in its original container, clearly labelled with a use-by date and your child’s name. On your child’s first day please hand these to the service coordinator. 

Please note we are unable to accept children at any of our services without their medication, medical action plans and risk minimisation forms. 

Clothing
Please ensure that your child is dressed in appropriate clothing for outdoor play and all clothing & personal belongings are named. Children must not bring any personal items to the program i.e. mobile phone, games etc.

Fees
Credits will only be issued with a medical certificate and for no other reason.   All families that are eligible to receive Child Care Benefit must register with the Family Assistance Office (Phone: 13 61 50).  Our Customer Reference No. is 555 010 979A.  It is the family’s responsibility to have their details updated with Centrelink and MyGov before submitting a booking form to be eligible to claim CRN benefits. After submitting your booking form, you will need to log into your MyGov account and ‘Approve’ the upcoming care session in order to activate any CRN benefits your family is eligible for. Failure to do so may result in being charged the full fees for the program.

Enrolments and Bookings
Bookings will not be accepted without a correctly completed Enrolment Form. You will require the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader to complete the interactive form. Full payment is required upon booking.  Parents are advised not to consider their booking finalised until they receive an email confirming their child’s place in the program, which will be sent to the email address provided.

Bookings can only be made via email or our online booking system. Phone or fax bookings will not be accepted. We will not accept email requests as Booking Forms. Please do not take a photo of your forms and attach them to an email as they become too pixelated and cannot be read. Either scan, download or hand them into the Centre.

Children must be signed in and out of the program at the Centre upon drop off and collection. Children attending excursions must depart with the Program bus and return on the Program bus. Children may not be dropped off at excursion sites nor collected from the excursion sites.
