Upgrading Brighton Rec Centre

Bayside City Council is looking to make our Centre and the adjoining Wilson Reserve an even better place for activities, classes, sports, services and more!

In 2018 Council conducted a social infrastructure assessment that included community and stakeholder consultation to understand how Brighton Rec can be improved to meet community needs now and into the future.  The assessment found that Brighton Rec is ageing and has minimal access or connection to the neighbouring Wilson Reserve.

The Council want your ideas to help them prepare a design concept for a draft Masterplan for Brighton Rec and Wilson Reserve. We have a short survey below and a number of onsite activities for you to share your ideas.  We also have a hard copy survey and an ideas wall at Brighton Rec where you can pop down and fill in your big ideas at any time during consultation.

Here’s how you can have your say!

1) Complete the online survey here.
2) Attend one of the drop in sessions to share your thoughts:
Wednesday 8 May, 8am-10am Brighton Recreational Centre
Thursday 9 May, 8am-10am Wilson Reserve
Friday 24 May, 9.30am-12.30pm, Brighton Library Coffee Cart
3) Complete a hard copy survey or pop down your thoughts on the “Ideas Wall” next time you are in the Centre.

Consultation closes on Sunday 30 June, 2019.
