25 Aug Building Works Commencement

We would like to inform you of some upcoming building works that will be taking place within the Brighton Recreational Centre, commencing from Thursday 20 August. 

Bayside City Council is upgrading the existing occasional care room to establish a new 30-place kindergarten.  The room is currently vacant and is located on the left-hand side of the building, just before the stairs leading up to the gymnasium. The kindergarten will be operated by Glen Brighton Kindergarten who are expected to relocate to the facility in Term 1, 2027. 

The Centre will remain open throughout the construction period, and the Bayside City Council is working closely with the building contractors to ensure the impact on our community is kept to an absolute minimum. 

While there may be some minor adjustments during the construction period, we anticipate minimal disruption to Centre users. The most noticeable changes will be: 

• A temporary construction wall within the entrance walkway opposite the Reception Desk. 

• A slightly reduced size of the Wellness Studio during the construction period. 

You may also notice a small construction area on the outside of the building during the works, which won’t have any impact on our services or operations. 

Importantly, the builders will be scheduling most of their noisier works around our class timetables and have committed to minimising disturbances wherever possible. Every effort is being made to ensure our programs, classes and services can continue to operate as normal.
