FAQ’s

How do I purchase a fitness membership?

You can sign up to our membership through our website here, or simply get in touch with us at the front desk. 9592 3033 enquiries@brightonrec.com.au

How does my fitness membership work?

Your membership will autopay via direct debit $25/29 on the same day each week. Memberships have an initial lock in period of 8 weeks, after which you can cancel or suspend at any time.

24 hour’s notice before your next autopay is required for cancellations and suspensions to be applied accordingly before regularly weekly payment is transferred.

We allow memebers to suspend their memberships (post the initial 8 week period) as many times a year for any length of time, with no additional fees.

Is there a joining fee?

No, there is no fee to become a member of Brighton Rec’s fitness and wellness program.

How do I book into a Fitness and Wellness class?

To make a booking, click here and follow the below steps:

1) Chose the class that you would like to book into and click the “Book” button.

2) Sign in with your email address and password. If you have forgotten your password, click ‘forgot my password’ and follow the prompts to reset your password.

New to Brighton Recreational Centre? Click on ‘Create account’ and follow the prompts to add your personal information and create a password.

How does my Fitness and Wellness pass card work?

Each attendance to a class will reduce the balance on the card by one. Only students who have booked into the class within the Mind Body App or by reception staff are to be permitted into the class. Fitness and Wellness pass cards are not transferable. 10 pass cards are valid for 12 months.

What should I wear?

Clothing that makes you feel comfortable and that is suitable for exercise and moving around in. For example leggings, shorts and a t-shirt.

What should I bring?

A water bottle, we have a refill fountain here.

How long are your classes?

All of our fitness and wellness classes run for 50 minutes.

Do you offer trial classes?

Yes, we offer one free class to one of our fitness and wellness classes for anyone new to our Centre.

How do I cancel a class I have already booked into?

You can cancel a class on the Schedule tab of the Profile screen in the MindBody app or alternatively call the Centre 9592 3033. Cancelling of a fitness and wellness class booking must occur no less than 1 hour prior to the class commencement.

For passcard holders, if you have made a booking, do not attend the class and fail to cancel the class prior to 1 hour, your class pass will have been considered as expended and you will not be entitled to a refund or credit under these circumstances.

Can I cancel my membership?

Yes you can cancel your membership after your initial 8 week minimum period. Cancellations must be requested no less than 5 days before the next fortnightly direct debit date.

Cancellations can be requested with us directly at any time, or via the Mind Body website here. Terminations are not possible on the MindBody App.

Am I able to suspend my membership?

Yes, you can suspend your membership for 8 weeks over a 12-month period, which must be used as a minimum 2-week block.

Do you have a gym?

We don’t have a permanent fitness gym set up here at the Centre. However, in addition to our range of fitness and wellness classes, we do offer a fitness assessment (free to all membership holders) run by a qualified fitness instructor who after the completion of the assessment, can guide you towards the fitness and wellness class best suited to meet your needs and fitness goals.

Do you have squash courts?

No, the Brighton Recreational Centre no longer has squash courts or a basketball court available to hire. There is also no swimming pool at our Centre

Parking

Free parking is available in our Centre’s car park which is exclusive to Brighton Rec Centre customers. Alternatively, Free Parking is available on Outer Crescent. Time limits apply.

Disabilities

Our centre caters for people of all abilities including designated disability parking, wheelchair accessible, disabled toilets.

Public Transport

Middle Brighton station is a 9 min walk. A bus stop is located near the corner of St Andrews Street and Black Street.
