David Nankervis

Centre Manager

David is passionate about creating active, healthy, and connected communities. Completing his studies at Deakin University, his career started at Monash University, where he worked in sport and recreation, overseeing recreation facilities, fitness services, community inclusion programs, and facility operations. From there, he built an extensive local government career across Boroondara, Port Phillip, and Bayside Councils, leading initiatives in sport, recreation, wellbeing, events, and community participation.

David loves bringing people together through recreation, physical activity, and community programs, and believes that everyone should have the opportunity to participate, connect, and thrive. Whether it’s improving facilities, supporting clubs and community groups, or creating opportunities for residents to be active, he’s driven by the positive impact recreation and wellbeing can have on people’s lives.

Outside of work, David is a proud husband and dad to two daughters, who keep him busy and remind him daily about the importance of balancing wellbeing, fun, and family. When he’s not with his family, you’ll often find him involved in his local community, where he enjoys both playing and coaching cricket, trying to play golf, or just enjoying the great outdoors.
