Hatha yoga involves stretches and gentle movement of the whole body, that are slow and includes static posture holds. Beginners to yoga are welcome in this class and will be lead safely through a series of positions. Props may be used, which are provided by the Centre.
The term is derived from the Sanskrit ha, meaning “sun,” and tha, meaning “moon,” leading to the common interpretation that Hatha practices are designed to unite and balance these two energies.
